-A new directive was passed on 28th april 2006 and it stated that the "discrimination on the basis of race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation" is banned and this law must be implemented into the national laws of all the Member States by the end of 2007.

The EU is currently in the process of passing laws to help thoes with disabilities. Arround 50 million Europeans have some form of disability. A recent report stated that improving access to public transport and making webisghts more useable to thoes with disabilities are 2 key steps in tackling unemployment amongst disabled people. Various items of legislation have been and are currently being passed to help support thoes with disabilities throughout the EU.

Do you know how many of our laws are passed by the EU? Do you know that UKIP is protesting about this? How many of the laws do you think are good ones?

The UKIP party's main point of contention with the EU laws is that eventually it will lead to the UK going over to the Napoleonic code system. The party sees this as a loss in our British rights and they suggest that our continued participation in the EU will lead to Britians being "deemed guilty until proven innocent and liable to virtually unlimited detention without charge".

One of the laws they also object to is the plan to have all members to have a 60 hour limit on the working week. My view is that it will reduce our economic effeciency and will have a dire impact on our Economy for both firms and employees.
